36th Schinderhannes Robber Festival

In 1988, the local community of Herrstein decided to hold another market. This was to do justice to the special flair of the historic town center along the German Gemstone Route.
This was the birth of the now well-known "Schinderhannes Robber Festival," which extends far beyond the region.

Over 100 artisan craftsmen and farmers showcase their trades and offer their goods in the style of the past. They attract thousands of people to the picturesque little town, filling the alleys with vibrant life and transporting visitors back to the good old days. The potters, toy makers, bookbinders, soap makers, basket weavers, shoemakers, garment makers, wood carvers, glassblowers, and many other traditional craftsmen, along with the farmers offering fragrant wood-fired bread, cheese, homemade sausage, jams, honey, oils, juices, and fruits, as well as smoked fish, potatoes, vegetables, and juicy fruits, enchant visitors with the abundance of nature.
